Why You Need to be Faithful to One Church

Are you a fair weather saint? Hit and miss church attendance? Stagnant in your walk with God?

—Let me tell you why you feel disconnected from the church, why you havent seen any growth in your walk, and why you are most likely moving backwards.

1. You have failed to make an effort to be involved.

2. You don’t believe that you need a Pastor to be accountable to.

3. You have never really given of yourself without expecting something in return.

4. You have an unteachable spirit and think you know everything that you need to know.

5. You feel judged.

6. You are real spiritual but cant stop sinning.

7. You refuse to separate yourself from friends or family that blatantly enjoy their sin.

Now: Please read my responses in corresponding order:

1. You cannot be spiritually lazy and expect to have a dynamic walk with God. Faith without works IS DEAD!

2. You need a man of God in your life to keep you straight, who can step on your toes, and that you will allow to lead you and guide you. Ignore anyone who says that you dont have to submit, they are waaaaay outside the Word of God, and chances are that their life is already in chaos.

3. You reap what you sow. This is a Biblical principle that will always exist. You must give FIRST in faith in order to receive. Money, time, labor, energy, it all works the same way. Dont be a taker, or a spiritual leach, be a giver and watch God bless your obedience. Throw yourself behind your Pastor’s vision, and God will bring your vision to pass in the meantime.

4. God has anointed the man of God for this season, this territory, and this people. People who desire real change in their lives, must start by allowing themselves to be led, fed, and taught; regardless of age, education level, experience, or background. Discipleship is personal and must be one on one. Jesus personally discipled 12 men, and several women for 3 years before releasing them to work on His behalf.

If you were that smart, and that religious, God wouldnt have needed to bring someone in. Humble yourself, study, and admit what you do not know.

5. The church isnt judging you, God is. By giving the man of God a message, God is reaching, teaching, and sometimes rebuking the listener in order to “perfect” their relationship with Him. Conviction for sin by the Holy Ghost feels alot like judgment, the difference is, the Pastor has nothing to gain by condemning, but everything to gain by allowing the Holy Ghost to convict and root out sin by the preaching of the Word.

6. Local religious “tradition” has cost many people their souls. These traditions DO NOT create lifelong converts or disciples, they create lifelong charismatic hyper-grace recipients who have felt God but think that He requires nothing in return. Repentance IS required, and repentance demands change. If we still drink, smoke, and cuss, we are not truly repentant, and by default, we are unrighteous snd CANNOT according to the Scripture, see Heaven.

7. You cannot and will not ever grow in God while dabbling in sin. You can absolutely be unrighteous, according to Paul, by living vicariously through your friends’ sin. Even to the point of being worthy of death.

You have to cut them off until they make a choice between you and their pet sin.

What good is it if you gain the whole world and lose your own soul?

-Buy into the church that is preaching straight Bible Truths, not their version user friendly version.

-Allow the man of God to help you by listening to him. God put him there for a reason.

-Show up!! The more involved you become, the closer you draw to God; you develop deeper relationships, you invest yourself and you will feel the benefits. You will learn more than you ever learned in the sugar cookie churches.

If you could have done it alone…..you would have already done it.

Let your Pastor preach to you, let him rebuke you, because by allowing that, you are helping him to save you soul!
